Tip of the Week

`Weizenbier` is a tart and refreshing brew made from wheat and predominantly found in southern Germany. So is `Bockbier`, a sweetish ale, which goes well with `Bockwurst`. `Altbier` from Duesseldorf is a copper-colored barley malt beer. Cologne is famous for `Koelsch`, a pale, highly fermented beer, served only in small glasses. Dortmund, Europe`s largest beer-producing city, specializes in `Export`, a medium-strong premium beer. The town of Jever in Lower Saxony produces a beer, which is the most bitter in taste of all German beers. `Pils`, a golden beer with a high hop content, is produced throughout the country.
