Das Hildebrandslied ist das aelteste ueberlieferte deutsche Heldenlied von 810/812 nach Christi Geburt. Heldenlieder wurden muendlich in einer Art Sprechgesang weitergegeben. Sie geben Hinweise auf geschichtliche Begebenheiten und Personen. Dieses Lied ist in altdeutsch unter Verwendung von vielen Stabreimen (Haus und Hof, Stock und Stein, Kind und Kegel) verfasst und leider nicht vollstaendig ueberliefert.
