October 11, 2002, Newsletter Issue #111: Fruehstueck

Tip of the Week

Many Germans do not eat breakfast first thing in the morning. Consequently, many cafes serve breakfast until mid-afternoon. These present a wider and more imaginative choice than the typical hotel fare. You might find "Englisches Fruehstueck" or "Franzoesisches Fruehstueck" on the menue. Another typical German mid-morning snack comes in the form of "Kaffee und Kuchen" (coffee and cake).
