Tip of the Week

The U.S. airlines that serve Germany are American Airlines (Frankfurt & Duesseldorf), Continental (Frankfurt, Duesseldorf, Munich), Delta (Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Munich, Berlin), Northwest Airlines (Frankfurt, direct), TWA (Frankfurt), United (Frankfurt, Duesseldorf, Munich), and US Airways (Frankfurt & Munich). The German national airline Lufthansa flies direct to Berlin, Duesseldorf, Frankfurt, Bonn, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart and Hannover. Germany`s internal air network is excellent with frequent flights linking all major cities in little more than an hour. Services are operated by Deutsche BA, a British Airways subsidiary, Lufthansa and LTU. In addition, small airlines operate services between a limited number of northern cities and the East and North Frisian islands. Some of these flights only operate in the summer. German rail (DB) operates a "Rail and Fly" service, under which people with a valid round-trip air ticket can buy a heavily discounted railway ticket to an airport.
