Tip of the Week

Truthahnschnitten
Prep: 5 min, cook: 5 min., serves 4
Ingredients:
1/4 cup coarse grain mustard
1 Tbs. dark brown sugar, firmly packed
2 Tbs. honey
1-1/2 Tbs. red wine vinegar
2 tsp. dry mustard
1 Tbs. prepared horseradish
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup water
4 4 ounce turkey ham steaks, or ham steaks
8 slices rye bread
Directions:
Combine first 7 ingredients in a mixing bowl. Cover and set aside to let flavors meld. Place water and ham in a heavy nonstick skillet over medium heat. Simmer ham 5 minutes or until heated throughout. Drain ham and serve on bread with mustard mixture. You can serve the dish with a dry white wine, such as Bocksbeutel from Frankonia.
