The Einwohnermeldeamt will enter your information, such as date of birth, citizenship and address into a computer. Youy need to bring your ID, a passport and a copy of your apartment lease. Better still, submit copies of everything. Once your information is stored, you will get a slip with your address. Save this slip. If you move again, you will need to bring it back to the Einwohnermeldeamt. It is also proof that you have already registered.
